Notice of Election - South Arkansas Fire Protection District
The South Arkansas Fire Protection District will hold its regular election on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, to fill three (3) positions on the Board of Directors, each serving a four-year term.
Eligible individuals interested in serving on the Board of Directors may submit a Self-Nomination and Acceptance Form. These forms are available at the District office, located at 611 Oak Street, Salida, CO, or can be requested by contacting Fire Chief Aaron Jonke at aaron.jonke@cityofsalida.com or 719-539-2212.
Key election deadlines are as follows:
- Self-Nomination Deadline: Forms must be filed no later than Friday, February 28, 2025, by 5:00 PM.
- Write-In Candidate Deadline: Affidavits of Intent to Be a Write-In Candidate must be filed by Wednesday, March 5, 2025, by 5:00 PM.
If the number of candidates equals the number of open positions, the election may be canceled, and the candidates declared elected by acclamation. In this case, notice of cancellation will be posted on the District’s website and at the designated posting locations.
This year’s election will be conducted as a mail ballot election. Ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters within the District beginning April 15, 2025. To ensure you receive your ballot, please verify your voter registration information with the Chaffee County Clerk and Recorder or Fremont County Clerk and Recorder, depending on your residency.
